Ashwagandha root is an herb similar to ginseng (and sometimes called Indian ginseng), used traditionally in Ayurvedic medicine. It is known as a vitality tonic and adaptive that is used alone or as an ingredient in compounds designed to target a variety of conditions. It may help improve sexual performance as well as fertility, and may help to reduce stress due to anxiety, fatigue and memory loss. The plant acts as a mild sedative, an anti-inflammatory and a libido booster. It is also used for problems with inflammation of the gums or a gargle for a sore throat. In addition, Calendula flowers are commonly used in the treatment of liver disorders and are thought to induce perspiration in case of fever, for it’s stimulant and diaphoretic properties. Carminative, stimulant, aromatic, but rarely used alone; chiefly useful as an adjuvant or corrective. The seeds are helpful in indigestion, flatulence and kills the bacteria responsible for bad breath, giving a grateful but not fiery warmth. It has decongestant properties that make it useful in colds and congestion as well. Cardamom is also found in many aphrodisiac formulas in Asia. Cleavers is used both internally and externally. The plant contains organic acids, flavonoids, tannins, fatty acids, glycoside asperuloside, gallotannic acid and citric acid. It is often taken to treat skin problems such as seborrhoea, eczema and psoriasis, and as a general detoxifying agent in serious illnesses such as cancer.
